About

From Observer to Writer

I was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico. From an early age history, folktales and world mythologies captured my imagination. It was only a matter of time before I started making up my own stories, writing them down and eventually learning about the many formats and channels through which I could share them. Throughout my life I have been deeply impressed by the ways in which films, books, and other storytelling mediums have shaped and changed the way we think and interact with the world we live in. The topics writers engage with and what audiences respond to, plus what they suggest based on their zeitgeist and culture, is a topic I like to think about and discuss.

I enjoy talking to people about shared interests. I have been known to douse people in fun facts and information I think can be helpful for them. In time, this has resulted in friends and peers asking me for advice on how to start writing or researching for their projects, making work plans and structures, and even trusting me in the revision and editing process of their works. This is something that makes me very happy and enjoy doing in addition to writing my own projects.

More often than not, you’ll find me with my nose in a book or scribbling in a notebook, but my other hobbies include: traveling, boxing, baking, buying trinkets and candles at local bazars, watching tv shows with friends, and driving around my city. But honestly, usually you can find me at home reading and writing, or at the cinema.
